The short version
- We collect only what Owntrance needs to work: your email for the waitlist, and in the app your voice recordings, the voice copy made from them, and your session text and reflections.
- Your voice copy can only read your own sessions. It's made only after you record a spoken consent.
- If you connect TikTok, Owntrance posts only the videos you choose, with the settings you choose, each time.
- No ads, no tracking cookies, no analytics. We never sell or share your data.
- You can ask for everything to be deleted at any time.
Who runs Owntrance
Owntrance is an early-stage self-hypnosis app made and run by [operator: your full name or business name], referred to here as "we". We decide how your information is used, which makes us its controller under data protection laws such as the GDPR. You can reach us at the address in Contact.
This policy covers this website (owntrance.pages.dev and any domain that replaces it), the Owntrance app, and Owntrance's sharing features for social platforms.
What we collect, and why
On this website
- Waitlist: your email address, the optional answer to "what would you like help with?", which link brought you here (for example "tiktok"), and the date you joined. We use it only to tell you when Owntrance has a place for you. It's stored in a database on Cloudflare.
- Server logs: like any website, our host processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the page and keep it secure. We don't use them to profile you.
In the Owntrance app
- Voice recordings and your voice copy. To read sessions in your voice, you record a spoken consent and a short passage of about 15 seconds. These are used to create an AI copy of your voice with VoiceStudio, which runs on Owntrance's own computer. Your recordings and voice copy stay on that computer. Your voice copy can only be used for your own sessions: nobody else can choose it, including us. Your consent recording is kept as a record that you agreed.
- Your goals, session text and reflections. What you'd like to work on, the scripts written for you, the session audio, and anything you tell the app about how a session went (typed or recorded). We use these to write and adapt your sessions.
- Your name and invite link. The name you give, so sessions can address you, and the private link you use to open the app.
We use this information to provide the app to you, on the basis of your consent and of providing the service you asked for. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your data.
Services that process data for us
We use a small number of providers. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores the waitlist.
- Anthropic (Claude) writes and personalises session scripts. Your goals and answers are sent to it to write your session.
- TypeSafe (Jev) checks scripts for quality and safety, and reads your reflections so the next session can adapt.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this website, which means your browser contacts Google.
- TikTok, only when you connect your account and choose to post.
- Upload-Post schedules Owntrance's own YouTube videos. It doesn't receive your data.
Voice cloning and voice rendering don't use an outside service: they run in VoiceStudio on Owntrance's own computer. Some providers process data outside your country, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist: until you ask to be removed, or until Owntrance stops running the waitlist.
- App data, including your voice copy: for as long as you use Owntrance, until you delete your profile or ask us to.
- TikTok connection: until you disconnect it, revoke access, or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, stop using it, or delete it. You can withdraw your consent at any time. If you're in the EU, the UK or another region with data protection laws, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Deleting your data
Email [contact email: to be added] with the subject "Delete my data", from the email address you used, or tell us your profile name. We'll delete your waitlist entry, your profile, recordings, voice copy, sessions, reflections and any connected-account tokens, and confirm by email within 30 days. Deleting a profile in the app also removes its voice copy, sessions, reflections and audio straight away.

Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Social account tokens are encrypted when stored. Access to Owntrance's computer and data is limited to the person who runs it. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold small and protected.
Age
Owntrance is meant for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell people on the waitlist or in the app before it takes effect.

Connected social accounts
Share to TikTok
Owntrance lets you post your own videos to your TikTok account, using TikTok's Login Kit and Content Posting API. You connect your account yourself, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Owntrance's own channels
Owntrance also publishes its own videos, such as the Unscroll series, to its own accounts on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Threads, on behalf of the person who runs Owntrance. The access tokens for those accounts are stored encrypted in the same way, used only to post Owntrance's videos, and can be revoked at any time from each platform's settings. YouTube uploads are scheduled through Upload-Post, which receives the video and its title and description, and publishes it at the chosen time. This doesn't involve your data or any account of yours.
